Q:How do solar lights work?

A:Solar-powered lighting consists of a solar panel or photovoltaic cell that collects the sun’s energy during the day and stores it in a rechargeable gel cell battery.

A solar lighting system consists of various components, including an intelligent controller that prevents the solar panel from overcharging the battery bank. It also senses when there is no longer any energy from the sun and automatically turns the LED light on using a portion of the stored energy in the rechargeable battery.

Q: What happens if the light is not bright enough after receiving the goods?

A: Due to the characteristics of the battery of solar lamp, we will not fully charge the battery before shipping, therefore, the power is generally around 20-30% when the initial power-on, which is the safest way during transportation. After charging for a day or two under sunshine, the brightness of the lamp will increase when the power of battery increases.

Q: What is the warranty of your solar lights?

a.We provide 3years warranty for the solar lights which we use LFP batteries, such as Led solar street lights and Led solar flood lights.

b.And 1year warranty for the Led solar landscape lights which we use the Li-ion batteries.

Q: How to ensure the solar lights working well?

a.It is recommended to turn off the light and charge it under direct sunlight for 1-2 days before the first use. Make sure the product has enough power.
b.During the installation, please make sure the solar light is installed under direct sunlight where there is no shade or eave to shelter the solar panel. Otherwise, the lighting time will be shorter.
c.Whether the solar lights can produce the best lighting effect or not depends on sunlight intensity, geographical location, weather conditions, seasons and other conditions.

Q: How long does each system last?

A:

Each component of a Sol system has a different lifespan:

Solar panels: up to 20 years

Batteries: approx. 3-10 years

LED fixtures: approx. 50,000–100,000 hours

Electronics: approx. 3-5 years

Q:Can your solar lamp be installed indoors?

 It depends on the design. If the solar panel and the lamp body are separated and equipped with wire, you can fix the solar panel outdoor while the solar light indoor. Like our Comet series solar pendant light.

Q: What’s the lifespan of your battery?

A: The lifespan of the battery is affected by many factors, including the depth of charge and discharge, charging rate, and working temperature. Normally, LFP battery has a lifespan of 8-10 years, and lithium battery has a lifespan of around 3-5 years in moderate temperature. While inappropriate working temperature or frequent adjustment of working modes will have a impact on the lifespan.

Q: What is the voltage of the battery?

A: It depends on the batteries. Normally, the rated voltage of lithium batteries is 3.7V, and the rated voltage of LFP batteries is 3.2V.

Q: Will the decomposition of the coating on the solar panel have an impact on the solar lamp?

A:No,The decomposition of the surface coating on the solar panel will not affect the functionality of the solar lamp. Only it may affect the appearance of the product.

Q:Why is the luminous efficiency of solar street lights higher?

A:Three factors contribute to this:

1.The lens from German manufacturer BAYER has a high light transmittance of up to 97%.

2.The LED chips efficiency is impressive at 176LM/W.

3.The control board’s resistance is low, resulting in a higher conversion efficiency.

 

Q: How long can the solar lights last with only solar energy and batteries?

A: Our solar lights have different working modes and the max. Running time is also different. Please refer to the detailed specifications of the products you like.

Q: What kind of material is the transparent cover? Is it impact-resistant?

A: The transparent cover is the German Bayer PC material, which has high light transmittance and good weather resistance. The impact resistance level of the product is IK10, which is the highest level of impact resistance.

Q: How should I do if the solar lights failed to turn on?

a.check if there is any light source around;
b.charge the light for a while and then cover the solar panel to have a test;
c.make sure you hear a clear “click” sound when you press the button.

Q: Will the lights still work if it’s cloudy?

A: Solar lights work even after cloudy days. During daylight, even when overcast, the solar panels continue to charge the batteries, and the system is designed to work for at least four days with no sun!

Q: Can I request different solar panel, batteries, working modes .etc for your solar lights?

A: Yes, as a professional manufacturer of solar lights, we provide OEM service, including customized packaging, solar panel, batteries, working modes and so on, you’re welcome to send us your requests.

Q: How do you ensure your solar lights IP65 waterproof?

A: No-edge joint, well-joined screw posts, smooth panel surface, ABS lamp body material, all of these help form a waterproof structure and outer case preventing dust and water for the lighting fixture and solar panel. Most importantly, we have strict QC measures, only products that pass a series of tests, especially the air tightness and humidity test, can be sent to logistics department. According to our last 5years experience, all of our solar lights have been 100% IP65 waterproof, so customers no need to worry about this issue.

Q: What kind of battery you used for your solar lights?

A: Normally, we adopt LFP battery for our big power solar lights like street light and flood light. We equip our garden light, pendant light, part of wall light and street light with lithium battery. If customers need custom-made service, we are able to satisfy their needs.

Q: What’s the difference between the mono-crystalline silicon solar panel and the poly one?

A: We use Grade A Mono-crystalline silicon solar panel which has a higher photoelectric conversion rate up to 23%, while the best quality of poly silicon solar panel is only 18-20%. Besides, the mono one looks black on the surface of the solar panel and poly one looks dark-blue.

Q:The material of your solar street light is ABS+iron, but doesn't iron get rusty easily?

A:Yes,The solar street light is made of ABS+PC material, while only the bracket is made of iron, the surface of the bracket is treated with special spray paint, and have undergone a professional “salt spray test” to ensure anti-corrosion.
